Safety Information

Fire Alarm:

• The alarm is a rising and falling siren.
• The institutes are equipped with an automatic fire alarm system.
• The Vienna fire brigade will be called automatically.
• Fire doors close automatically (Warning: the closed doors can affect your accustomed perception of the corridors).
• Lifts will automatically take you to the nearest escape exit and remain unusable until the all-clear. Follow the green signs to the closest marked fire exit.
   

CORRECT BEHAVIOUR IN CASE OF FIRE
Important: Stay Calm!

1.  ALARM: Activate one of the push-button alarms
2.  EVACUATE: People in the danger area
3.  EXTINGUISH: Use extinguishers
    

ESCAPE ROUTES

• Follow the green escape route signs and leave the building at the closest marked fire exit.
• After leaving the building wait at the assembly area marked on the escape route diagram.
   

In Case of Accidents:

There are numerous trained first-aiders in all institutes. A list with telephone numbers is attached to the first aid cabinets.
 

FIRST AID & EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT

• Always stay calm and call for help
• A defibrillator is kept at the IMBA/GMI and IMP reception area.
• There are First-Aid cabinets in the corridors and the labs.
• Eye-wash equipment is provided in the labs and at the marked
• positions.
• An emergency shower, if installed, is located above the entrance to every lab.

Restrictions in the Institutes:

• Visitors must be escorted by an internal member of staff.
• Entry to special labs such as radio-active labs, Cat. 2 cell culture labs, animal facility and toxics storeroom is only permitted after respective instruction and in the company of an authorised member of staff.
• The general legal regulations and internal security regulations are to be adhered to (available at the reception).
• Please observe the general non-smoking regulation in the buildings and also in some outdoor areas.

Alarmierung im Brandfall:

• Die Alarmierung erfolgt durch einen auf- und abschwellenden Sirenenton.
• Die Institute sind mit einem automatischen Brandmeldesystem ausgestattet.
• Die Feuerwehr der Stadt Wien wird automatisch verständigt.
• Brandschutztüren schließen automatisch (Vorsicht: veränderte Wahrnehmung der Gebäudegänge durch verschlossene Türen)
• Lifte fahren automatisch in das nächste sichere Geschoß und sind bis zur Entwarnung nicht benutzbar. Folgen Sie nach Verlassen des Liftes den grünen Fluchtwegszeichen.
   

Richtiges Verhalten im Brandfall
Wichtig: Ruhe bewahren!

1. ALARMIEREN: Druckknopfmelder betätigen
2. RETTEN: Leute aus der Gefahrenzone bringen
3. LÖSCHEN: Feuerlöscher verwenden
    

FLUCHTWEGE

• Bei Auslösung eines Alarms folgen Sie bitte den grünen Fluchtwegszeichen und
• verlassen das Gebäude über die nächst-
• gelegene gekennzeichnete Fluchtstiege.
• Nachdem Sie das Gebäude verlassen haben warten Sie bitte am, in der Skizze gekennzeichneten, Sammelplatz.
   

Verhalten bei Unfällen:

• In allen Instituten gibt es eine Vielzahl an ausgebildeten Ersthelfern.
• Eine Liste mit Telefonnummern der
• ausgebildeten Ersthelfer ist an den
• Erste Hilfe Kästen angebracht.
   

ERSTE HILFE und NOTFALLEINRICHTUNGEN

• Bitte bewahren Sie Ruhe und bitten um Hilfe.
• Bei der Rezeption IMBA/GMI und IMP befindet sich ein Defibrillator.
• In jedem Stockwerk, in den Gängen und in den Labors gibt es Erste Hilfe Kästen.
• In den Labors und an gekennzeichneten Stellen hängen Augenduschen.
• In den Labors, falls vorhanden, ist eine Notfalldusche oberhalb des Eingangs installiert.
   

Aufenthalt in den Instituten:

• Besucher dürfen sich nur in Begleitung eines internen Mitarbeiters in den Instituten aufhalten.
• Der Zutritt zu den Speziallabors wie Radioaktivlabors, Zellkulturlabors der Kat. S2, Tierhaus und Giftlagerraum ist nur nach entsprechender Einweisung und in Begleitung eines Verantwortlichen gestattet.
• Die allgemeinen gesetzlichen Bestimmungen und hausinternen Sicherheitsrichtlinien  sind einzuhalten (liegen bei Rezeption auf).
• Beachten Sie das generelle Rauchverbot im Gebäude. Bitte nutzen Sie nur die im Außenbereich vorgesehenen Raucherplätze.
