Autophagy is essential for T-cell tolerance
Former IMP group leader Ludger Klein and his team have found out that Autophagy in thymic epithelium shapes the T-cell repertoire and is essential for tolerance.
Der Immunologe Ludger Klein, langjähriger Forschungsgruppenleiter am IMP, konnte mit seinen Kollegen „Autophagie“ als wichtigen Mechanismus der T-Zell-Schulung identifizieren. Diese Erkenntnisse könnten zur Entschlüsselung von Autoimmunerkrankungen, wie etwa Morbus Crohn, beitragen.
