Keystone Symposium on rare diseases: deadlines extended

11 Jul 2018

The prestigious Keystone Symposia will soon come to Vienna BioCenter for their inaugural conference on rare diseases. The deadline for the submission of abstracts was now extended.

The prestigious Keystone Symposia collaborate with Vienna BioCenter in the organisation of scientific conferences. The inaugural conference in Vienna will be held 11 to 14 November 2018 on the topic of “Rare to Care: Discovery, Modeling and Translation of Rare Diseases.”

The four-day conference is curated by Josef Penninger of the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) and Kym Boycott of Canada’s CHEO Research Institute and will take place in the IMP Lecture Hall. The conference will examine the current and future bottlenecks to gene discovery, disease modeling, and therapeutic approaches for the estimated 7,000 known rare diseases, and suggest strategies to accelerate progress in this regard.

Keystone Symposia on Cellular and Molecular Biology is a 46-year-old organization based in Silverthorne, Colorado, USA that convenes open, peer-reviewed conferences across a broad range of the life sciences. It held its first conference on rare diseases in March 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
