IMP group leader Anna Obenauf elected to Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) has announced the election of 29 researchers to its membership. Among them is IMP group leader Anna Obenauf.

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) welcomes 29 new members. At the annual election meeting on 12 April 2019, 19 female and 10 male researchers from various disciplines of the humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences as well as mathematics, natural sciences and technical sciences were admitted to the Academy in recognition of their outstanding scientific achievements and professional reputation.

Among the newly elected members is Anna Obenauf, who joined the IMP as a group leader in January 2016. Her research group studies the molecular mechanisms of metastasis and therapy resistance. Prior to starting her own lab, Anna Obenauf was a postdoctoral researcher at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York for five years. She did her PhD at the Medical University of Graz.

Within the ÖAW, Anna Obenauf will join the "Young Academy" chapter. She and the other new members will be welcomed to the Academy at a ceremony in Vienna on 18 May.
