Support for Ukraine

16 Mar 2022

The IMP has condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Due to this war, Europe is experiencing the fastest growing refugee crisis since the Second World War. In response, the IMP has decided to fund five positions for Ukrainian refugees in IMP research groups or service facilities for up to one year.

In a note to staff and on behalf of the IMP, the institute's directors have condemned the attack on Ukraine and expressed solidarity with all those affected by the war. Violence as an attempt to resolving conflicts must not be accepted.

The IMP is committed to a culture of mutual respect. As part of the international scientific community, the IMP strives for kindness in dealing with one another, irrespective of nationality or culture. The directors welcomed acts of support for Ukraine, also from Russians who oppose this war, and including from within the Vienna BioCenter campus.

More and more people who have fled are also arriving in Austria and some will look for temporary jobs. For this reason, the IMP has decided to fund 5 positions for Ukrainian refugees in IMP research groups or service facilities for up to one year. These positions are now accepting applications are are advertised via the usual outlet for job openings.
