Register now for the VBC PhD Programme Symposium “Communication”

28 Jul 2015

"One cannot not communicate.” When Paul Watzlawick jotted down his famous axiom, he was certainly thinking of humans in the first place. But communication is not restricted to higher organisms, in fact it is an essential and defining quality of all life forms, from bacteria to mammals.

For the 13th time in a row, the students of the Vienna Biocenter PhD Programme have independently organised a scientific symposium with the support of their institutes and external sponsors. They have invited leading experts from Europe and the United States whose research covers the many facets of communication. In the course of two days, the speakers will cover a wide range of topics from the interaction of parasites with their hosts to the mechanisms of the immune system, from cell signalling to the stress responses of plants.

The symposium will take place from November 5 to 6, 2015, at the IMP Lecture Hall in Vienna. Registration is now open - and it’s free!
