Nobel Laureates at the IMP

03 Jul 2007

On Friday 29 June we had the pleasure of welcoming two Nobel Laureates to the IMP. Roger Kornberg who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2006 and Richard Roberts who received the Nobel Prize, with Phil Sharp, for Physiology or Medicine in 1993.

Both seminars were well attended and the speakers gave interesting and informative talks. Throughout the morning they were able to speak to members of faculty and there was also a roundtable discussion session with PhD students.

Both were visiting as part of the “Vienna Seminar of Nobel Laureates” a seminar series that was initiated in 2006 to accentuate Vienna’s role as a source of academic and technical excellence which is partly sponsored by the IMP.
