Every year, students make a great effort to organise the "Vienna BioCenter PhD Programme Symposium". There, leading scientists present their latest discoveries within the symposiums' selected range of topics. 

This year will see the 17th Vienna BioCenter PhD Symposium, but also the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the PhD programme. Established in 1993 as a cooperation between the IMP and the University of Vienna, the programme has been going from strength to strength since then. Hundreds of successful students that have grown on the substrate of the programme now have the opportunity to come back to where cutting-edge research kick-started their careers.

“Re-Connect – 25 years of the Vienna BioCenter PhD Programme”

The spirit of this year’s student symposium will be a celebration of 25 successful years. It will take place 7 and 8 November 2019 at IMP and academy building.

The conference is only open to present students and postdocs at the Vienna BioCenter and alumni. The organisers “hope to revive many old friendships and encourage new cooperations.”  Apart from a range of speakers from past and present there will be activities including poster sessions, workshops and of course time to socialise.
