Deadline: once per year in mid August

The Marie Curie actions are open to all domains of research. Research fields are chosen freely by the applicants in a “bottom-up” matter. The Marie Curie actions aim to strengthen and enrich international cooperation and to attract research talents to Europe.

The fellowships are open to all nationalities.
Restriction: the applicants must comply with the rule for mobility: At the time of the relevant deadline for submission of the proposal researchers must not have resided in the country of their host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the relevant date. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account.

Marie Curie fellowships provide funding for a period of 24 months and grant an additional budget (“participation expenses”) for conferences, workshops, seminars etc.

Please note that you cannot have more than one proposal in any individual Marie Curie action application at the same time.

Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships for Career Development (IEF)

Experienced researchers from Europe have the possibility to carry out a research project in another European country with a view to achieving a diversification of competences and developing his/her career in a European context.
Projects are expected to add significantly to the career development of the most promising researchers active in Europe, in order to enhance and maximize their contribution to the knowledge-based economy and society.


Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)

Experienced researchers from third Countries have the possibility to carry out a research project in Europe. A potential return phase will only be funded for developing countries.
Projects under this action are expected to add to the research excellence in the European Research Area due to the sharing and application of new knowledge transferred and developed by highly qualified researchers.


Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowships for Career Development (IOF)

Experienced researchers from Europe have the possibility to carry out a research project in a third country. Mandatory return phase in Europe.
